Govardhan Lila

“Ordinarily, devotees feel separation from Kṛṣṇa. For example, when Krishna goes out to the pasturing ground during the day, the gopis and Mother Yashoda feel great separation, awaiting His return. When Krishna is enjoying His pastimes with certain devotees, then the other devotees are missing Him. During the night, His cowherd boyfriends are feeling separation from Him. However, Vishvanatha Cakravarti Thakura so nicely explains that there is an exceptional element of the Govardhana pastime. When everyone took shelter of Krishna for seven continuous days during their lockdown under Govardhana Hill, it was the one time when they were all together, their complete focus was on Krishna, and He was reciprocating with each one simultaneously.”
